Les Wells
Les Wells is an accomplished bassist with a lifelong passion for music. His musical journey began as a young teenager, where an early experiment with playing the spoons in church sparked a lifelong passion for music.
His musical path led him to exploring acoustic guitar before expanding into orchestral drums and slide trombone in high school. He later honed his skills on pedal steel guitar, performing with a country and southern gospel band, and pursued several years of formal study in bass guitar.
A multi-instrumentalist, Les also has additional experience on dobro, banjo, and mandolin. His influences span gospel, rock, roots-based music, and country influences shaping a style that is both supportive and expressive.
Today, he serves as the bassist for both 20 West and his local church, bringing experience, versatility, and a deep sense of musical purpose to every performance.
Outside of music, Les enjoys the outdoors—hiking, camping, hunting, fishing—and travel, and remains actively involved in his church community. By day, he applies precision and discipline as a subject matter expert in stability and controls principles for the Department of War, a role that mirrors the balance and structure he brings to his music.
Les is recently married to his wife, Terri, and together they have five grown children and seven grandchildren.
